Deputy Northern regional Minister, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, who is seeking re-election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sagnarigu Constituency in the Northern region in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries has expressed disquiet about the way and manner his contenders were conducting their campaigns.
The deputy regional minister who did not mince words singled out the party’s Northern Regional Youth Organiser, Mohammed Amin Abio, whom he said, had no respect for the elderly.
Consequently, he called on the constituents to consider his age and experience and vote for him on November 7, 2015—a date set for the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries.
He, however, advised them not to fall for the vile propaganda by his contenders, particularly the regional youth organiser.
He said this on Diamond FM after filing his nomination on Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Tamale.
“Consider my background as an intellectual, coupled with my royal identity, it is obvious that I’m the best person for the constituency,” he claimed.
The MP hopeful said with his contribution to the constituency he knew victory would definitely come his way.
Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini also called on the delegates to disregard those who have no respect for the elderly and rather vote for him.
The NDC northern regional youth organiser, Today understands, also accused the minister of using resources meant for the region’s projects for his personal gains as well as being an alien in the constituency.
Alhaji Abio, who is a key contender among the aspirants, further accused the minister of disassociating himself from the constituency after the 2012 General Elections.
He cautioned the minister to stop arrogating “unnecessary” powers to himself in the region. |
